  Saint Margaret Mary School

  Saint Margaret Mary School is renowned in the Harrisburg area for its academic excellence. For the past 50 years our goal has been to provide the best possible Catholic education for every student. This goal is maintained through a dedicated faculty and staff committed to Catholic education. 
  		 
  At the present time, St. Margaret Mary School maintains an enrollment of approximately 350 students. Our curriculum is based upon the graded courses of study developed by the Education Office of the Diocese of Harrisburg and approved by the State of Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  		 
  Saint Margaret Mary School includes a full-day Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our early childhood program includes two days a week morning and afternoon for 3 yr olds as well as a three day a week morning and afternoon Pre-K program.  Extended care is available before and after school hours from 7:00 A.M. until 5:30 PM
   		 
    
 
 Catholic Schools Week Activites  
 
We recently celebrated Catholic Schools Week at St Margaret Mary School.  It is just one of many times the school reaches out to the parish and local community to show all the wonderful things that happen in our school. This year we would like to invite our web visitors to be a part as well.

 Opportunities For Excellence  
 
Our students learn through a well-rounded curriculum including daily religion classes, computer, art, music, physical education and foreign language (Spanish). Advanced Math and Language Arts classes are offered to the 7th and 8th grades.

At St. Margaret Mary School, the children receive an excellent academic training. Education research indicates that nationwide Catholic school students consistently outperform other schools on tests for math, reading and science. The Iowa Test of Basic Skills ranking of St. Margaret Mary School confirms this research.

  Uniform Exchange  
 
There will be a uniform exchange on Thursday, Aug 5, 2010 from 6 - 8:30 P.M. in the Kindergarten Hall. For more information contact Katen Malesic		  
     
  Helping Haiti's Orphans  
 
Come Roller Skate with the Haitian Sensation and the Olympic Speed Team. The Haitian Sensation - is one of our students, Joseph McCormick previously from the Bresms Orphanage in Port Au Price, Haiti. Join the Team on Sat, Jan 23, 2010 10 AM- Noon at the Olympic Skating Center, donation $5.00. ALL MONIES COLLECTED AT THE DOOR WILL BE DONATED TO BRESMA ORPHANAGE IN HAITI.		  
     
  Principal Jean Fennessy Celebrates Successful Book Fair!!!  
 
After the students of St. Margaret Mary School, broke the record of buying over $7,000.00 in books during the recent Book Fair, Principal Jean Fennessy celebrated the successful book fair with getting not one, not two, but THREE pies in her face!!! Mrs. Fennessy was pleased to help in anyway to promote reading among her students. A good time was had by all! (To see the video click the more info link.)
